The Locanda del Sole restaurant is in the heart of the village of Querceto. It has always been a haven for travellers and a meeting place for the locals. In the sixties it was the only public phone and bar in the area and then it became a locanda and restaurant. In the fall of 2018 a new project was launched by the Ginori Lisci family and in April 2019 the Locanda opened with a new chef, Luca Tafi. The Locanda now offers an interesting and diversified menu: you can order just a cup of coffee or a rich board of local products, or a most sophisticated meal. Luca is originally from a small town near Querceto, and his cuisine is both sober and imaginative. The menus are seasonal and make use of typical local products: croutons with chicken livers whose texture is that of foie gras served on pain brioche with small tomatoes and cream of anchovies, fava bean soup with pumpkin seeds, small dumplings savoured with sage, pine nuts and pigeon ragù, safron and asparagus risotto, fried rabbit and artichokes with tomato juice, pheasant meatballs and escarole puree, and delicious desserts like fried ricotta cheese dumplings with coffee sauce, pistacchio flan and passion fruit, chocolate cupcakes with vanilla sauce.

You can choose to either sit in the cozy room with fewer tables and the fireplace, or else go down to the large stone-paved dining area with vaulted ceilings and large wooden tables.

In nice weather you can eat outside in the pleasant restaurant’s dehors with a lovely view on the Canadian vine-covered Castle.

The Locanda del Sole is also a perfect venue for organizing events like weddings, business dinners, birthdays and anniversaries and other special occasions. The menu can be personalized from the vast choice of the Chef’s creations to suit the tastes of clients and guests.
